Often referred to as the Paris of South America, Buenos Aires has always enjoyed close links with Europe; waves of Italian immigrants populated the port city in the 19th and 20th centuries, and much of its resplendent architecture echo trends from the other side of the Atlantic. Calafate is the true gateway to experience the sparkling lakes, snow-capped mountains, and towering glaciers of Patagonia. It is the perfect entry point from which to explore the Los Glaciers National Park (Parque Nacional Los glaciers). Bariloche is a very popular destination on Argentinean Patagonia during winter, and it is a destination worth visiting in any period of the year.
